Welcome to HARTMANN & NIHEM, PLLC
Attorneys Nancy Nihem & Amy Hartmann
Our primary focus for the past combined 15 years has been in the areas estate planning and trust and estate administration. We have had the pleasure of serving many families, business owners and others in our community and elsewhere. We are dedicated to providing our clients with cutting edge solutions to their estate planning and related needs.
We spent our early careers as litigators, Amy as a federal prosecutor at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan and then co-founder of the Michigan Children’s Law Center, Nancy as a fraud investigator and counsel to Trustees in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Eastern District of Michigan. We brought those skills to areas of the law we are passionate about and find personally rewarding beyond what we could have imagined.
At Hartmann & Nihem, our team is committed to helping our clients create legacies that protect their loved ones, maximize their estates, limit inheritance tax exposure and realize their distribution goals. We look forward to helping you craft your legacy—one that provides peace of mind to you and your loved ones for generations to come.
Our pledge is simple: If it matters to you, it matters to us!
Our Practice Areas
Wills & Trusts
Through experience, we have developed a process that takes the time to understand your unique goals and concerns, the unique dynamics of your family, and your goals for your family’s future.
Advanced Planning Strategies
We utilize advanced planning techniques to address many issues, including: potentially taxable estates, asset protection, multi-generational planning, business succession, family cottage and vacation home succession, charitable planning, long-term care planning, planning for significant inheritances, and maximizing your retirement assets for inheriting beneficiaries.
Probate & Trust Administration
Without proper administration, your loved ones could face court hearings and other costly legal matters before your estate can be distributed.
